The Mountain Valley High School Music Department, under the direction of Michael M. Prescott, offers a number of eclectic courses in order to nurture a wide variety of student interests.

Performance-based classes are fundamental to the music department and require dedication, as well as the willingness to perform. Band, Chorus, Percussion Class, and Pep-Band, often collaborate to create a final product. Those of you that have attended performances over the years understand that this "product" can range from Metallica to Mozart, and Bob Marley to Billy Ray Cyrus. Well, not Billy Ray Cyrus, but we have performed a version of his daughter's cover of a Dolly Parton classic. We think that you get the point...Just be prepared to expect the unexpected!

In addition, each ensemble takes pride in supporting the community by actively participating in Homecoming, Veterans Day, American Legion, and Memorial Day activities.  When possible, please take time to attend a performance, to participate, or just come by to show your support.

*Reminder*

All Music Department participants are required to review and sign the MVHS Music Deptment Handbook

As is tradition, Alumni are encouraged to visit, participate and perform with the current generation.  Your past involvement and efforts will always be cherished!
